Family Practice Physician Joins Oakwood Medical Center

Paulding County Hospital is pleased to announce a new member on our medical staff team. On April 5, 2010, Timothy Hogan, MD began seeing patients in the Oakwood Medical Center. Dr. Hogan will be joining Dr. Kreit in practice for the month of April before she leaves the Paulding area. Dr. Hogan joins the Paulding County Hospital medical staff from the Defiance area where he has practiced family medicine for over 20 years. Dr. Hogan was an Honors Graduate from Trent University in Ontario in 1979. He received his medical degree from the University of Toronto in 1983 and has his CCFP(Certificant of the College of Family Physicians) which is the Canadian equivalent to an American Board Certification.
Dr. Hogan’s goal is to serve the community with a unique approach to personalized medicine with an emphasis on primary prevention, health maintenance, risk factor modification and patient education. In April, Dr. Hogan will see patients at the Oakwood Medical Center on Mondays and Fridays. In May, he will begin his full time practice in Oakwood. Most insurance products will be accepted.
Dr. Hogan is married and has seven children, all of whom are home educated. His family has lived in the Defiance area for over 20 years. When asked why he was interested in joining the staff at Paulding County Hospital he had this to say, “An opportunity presented itself where I needed a place to see my patients and Paulding County Hospital had a family practice physician leaving. I like the small town atmosphere and working with a smaller hospital is a more personal and intimate experience verses working in a large health care system”.
Dr. Rim Kreit has been the full time physician at Oakwood Medical Center for almost 6 years. She recently announced her intentions to join her husband, who lives in Michigan, so they can raise their family together. Dr. Kreit will continue to see patients at Oakwood Medical Center until the end of April.
