Medical and Inpatient Services: Surgery


Surgeries and procedures once available only at large, urban hospitals are now routinely performed at Paulding County Hospital.


Our surgical team is comprised of Paulding County Hospital's full-time general surgeon, Dr. Peter vanden Berg, working with experienced, trained and certified surgical nurses and technicians.


Dr. vanden Berg is board certified in general surgery and experienced in general, laparoscopic, and thoracic surgery, endoscopy, trauma, and abdominal surgery.


In the hospital's recently remodeled surgical suites, we have the latest, most up-to-date equipment for a variety of laparoscopic surgeries. This type of surgery is less invasive and provides for a quicker recovery. Laparoscopic surgeries include gall bladder, appendectomy, hysterectomy and tubal ligation.


Surgical Services Provided:

  • Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT): Tonsillectomy, Ear Tube Insertion, Septoplasty, etc.
  • Gynecology: Hysterectomy, Ablations, Female Incontinence, etc.
  • Ophthalmology: Cataracts
  • Podiatry: Foot and Ankle Surgeries
  • Urology: Cystoscopy, Vasectomy, Circumcision, Lithotripsy, etc.
  • General Surgery: Laparoscopic Gallbladder, Hernia Repair, Appendectomy, Bowel Surgery, etc.
  • Endoscopy: Colonoscopy and EGD
  • State of the art anesthesia delivery and patient monitoring system
