Emergency Department

Emergency Department

In an emergency, seconds count. The team at Paulding County Hospital is ready 24 hours a day to treat a wide variety of emergency medical situations.

Our emergency physicians, nurses and clinicians are supported by dedicated professionals in cardio-pulmonary services, radiology, laboratory, and surgery.

The Emergency Department is one area of our hospital we wish we didn't need. So many common injuries and illnesses can be avoided if only simple guidelines are followed. Here are a few safety reminders:

  • Wear your seatbelt and properly restrain children whenever you are in a vehicle.
  • Do not drink and drive.
  • Keep poisons in a cabinet that is out-of-reach of children and never remove labels from poisons.
  • Never use gasoline to start a fire.
  • Use lighter fluid only as directed by the label instructions when grilling.
  • Keep matches and lighters in a safe place.
  • Create a fire plan with your family that includes alternate routes out of a burning house and a meeting place where everyone would go and stay after leaving the burning house.
  • Observe safety precautions listed on all machinery and equipment.
  • Never remove safety guards or other safety devices installed by the manufacturer.
  • Know CPR. In a heart attack, CPR administered quickly can mean the difference between life and death. Contact Paulding County Hospital, 419.399.4080, for CPR training courses.
  • Learn to swim and enroll children in swimming lessons conducted by a qualified lifeguard/swimming instructor.
  • Teach your children how and when to dial 9-1-1.

We hope you lead a safe, healthy life. But when accidents happen, the emergency department at Paulding County Hospital is here to help you.
